以诚信为主题高一英语作文1

Recently, I have seen an impressive film—“Meet the Parents”, which is abouta woman Palm brought her boyfriend Greg to her parents’ home to spend holiday. In the film, Greg was so dishonest to Palm’s parents that Palm’s father issuspicious of his behavior and quality. As a result, Greg is obnoxious to alland has to leave. As far as I am concerned, the consequence is heavily caused byhis dishonesty. If Greg could be real him all the time, he would get muchrespect and appreciation and would not get much frustration. From the film, Ihave learned that being honest was extremely important and necessary. In otherwords, being honest is a basic principle for us to deal with others.

For one thing, we will not get others’ trust unless we are honest. If wedeceive others, we would get the same in return, and even no one would makefriends with us or even communicate with us. For another, we will get others’respect and appreciation if telling the truth. Telling the truth and beingourselves, we will get a healthy and peaceful surrounding to grow up better.

However, something strange happens in our society. There is a strangephenomenon that honest people suffer but the dishonest benefit a lot. It madesome people have a suspicion that being honest is not so important.

But I still believe that these are just a few cases, since honesty isdeeply rooted in our minds and we still consider it as a basic principle insocial contacts.

Today, with the development of Internet, many traditional ways of life havebeen changed, especially the way to pay for purchase. The record of creditoccupies important role for everybody, and they need good credit to get loan, soas to start their business or buy a house. We have come to the age ofcredit.

There is a very classic example about the importance of credit. A Chineseman took the train in Europe. He found no one checked the ticket, so he justskipped the ticket. He thought he had saved the little money, but when he cameto the bank and wanted to get the loan, he got rejected, because his record ofcredit showed he had skipped the ticket, which made him the unreliable man.

The record of credit is the main basis when people asked for loan. Thebanks consider the account of money they would borrow according to the credit,or the departments will check a person’s credit to see if they want to hire him.The age of credit asks for us to behave ourselves well, or we will live thetough life.

My grandparents believed you were either honest or you weren't. There wasno in between. They had a simple motto hanging on their living-room wall: “Lifeis like a field of newly fallen snow; where I choose to walk every step willshow. ”They didn't have to talk about it--they demonstratedthe motto by the waythey lived. They understood instinctively that integrity means having a personalstandard of morality and ethics that does not sell out to expediency and that isnot relative to the situation at hand. Integrity is an inner standard forjudging your behavior.Unfortunately, integrity is in short supply today--andgetting scarcer. But it is the real bottom line in every area of society. And itis something we must demand of ourselves.

A good test for this value is to look at what I call the Integrity Trial, which consists of three key principles: Stand firmly for your convictions in theface of personal pressure.

When you know you're right, you can't back down. Always give others creditthat is rightfully theirs. Don't be afraid of those who might have a better ideaor who might even be smarter than you are. Be honest and open about who youreally are. People who lack genuine core values rely on external factors--theirlooks or status---in order to feel good about themselves. Inevitably they willdo everything they can to preserve this facade, but they will do very little todevelop their inner value and personal growth.

So be yourself. Don't engage in a personal cover-up of areas that areunpleasing in your life. When it's tough, do it tough. In other words, facereality and be adult in your responses to life's challenges.

Self-respect and a clear conscience are powerful components of integrityand are the basis for enriching your relationships with others.

Integrity means you do what you do because it's right and not justfashionable or politically correct. A life of principle, of not succumbing tothe seductive sirens of an easy morality, will always win the day. Mygrandparents taught me that.

Everybody knows that telling lies is not right, so we have been educated tobe an honest person. My parents tell me that no matter what kind of difficulty Imeet, I should tell them first, because they will stand by my side all the time.So I never lie to my parents. They care about me and give me enough love andtrust.

A boy went to a shop and bought a pencil and other things. When he wasgoing to pay the bill, he took out his wallet and found he had not enough moneyto pay. He felt awkward. At that moment, an old man who was in charge of theshop smiled and said to the boy that he could give the rest of the money nexttime. The boy was so shocked, as the old man trusted him so much. When the boywent home, he remembered it all the time. So the next morning, when he passedthe shop, he gave the money without hesitation. Integrity is priceless anddecides who we are.
